We began in 1976 as Big Island Records, a music production company. In 1981 we started Big Island Ripper Tunes, a music publishing company. In 1984 we incorporated Big Island Pictures; screenwriting and production, and in 1988 we produced our first Australian feature film Sons of Steel. At the start of 2023 we formed Big Island Publishing and a year later had published 21 fiction novels in the genres of science fiction/fantasy, historical fiction, YA, crime fiction and paranormal crime fiction, and developed a graphic novel based on the film Sons of Steel.
