Founders
The Kalki Group was established in the year 1941, with the launch of its flagship magazine ‘Kalki’ by Kalki Krishnamurthy, T.S. Sadasivam, M.S. Subbulakshmi, C. Rajagopalachari and T.K.Chidambaram with ‘DesaNalan’ as its vision and mission. To this day, the institution strives to uphold this vision.
M.S. Subbulakshmi acted in the film Savithri as Sage Narada solely for the purpose of financing the journal. Sadasivam became the Founder – Managing Director. Krishnamurthy made the most of the political scenario with his facile pen. Rajaji and T.K.C. guided and shaped the political and literary ideals of the journal.
Over the years, four more magazines were added into the stream, each a pioneer in its own genre, a product of responsible journalism showing no fear or favour while being outspoken in its criticism of men and matters.
Kalkionline.com, a digital venture from the Kalki Group established in September 2021, with the same ideology, aims to serve as an informative, entertaining and interactive platform bringing together millions of like-minded persons from across the globe.
